You know, I heard folks talkin’ ’bout them Rolex watches, the green ones. They call ’em “Submariner” or somethin’ like that. Now, some of ’em are real, some of ’em ain’t. These here, they call ’em “high imitation.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? Means they look like the real deal, but they ain’t.
I seen ’em down at the Rolex specialty stores. They got all kinds, shiny ones, plain ones. But this here green one, it’s somethin’ else. They say it’s popular, this New Green Submariner. Lots of fellas want one, I reckon.
Now, I ain’t no expert on these fancy watches. But I know a thing or two ’bout quality. You can just tell, you know? This high imitation Rolex, it’s got a good weight to it. Feels solid in your hand. Not like them cheap ones you get at the flea market. Those feel like they gonna fall apart any minute.

- They say a real Rolex Submariner is 40 millimeters.

They make these high imitation Rolexes look real nice. Shiny, they are. But a real Rolex, a Genuine Submariner, it’s got a different kinda shine. Not too much, not too little. Just right. And that green color, it ain’t just any green. It’s a deep green, like the color of the old tractor. This one I seen, the New Green Submariner, it’s a pretty color, but not quite the same.
These specialty stores, they know how to sell ’em, too. They put ’em in these fancy boxes, under these bright lights. Makes ’em look even more special. You go in there, and you feel like you gotta buy somethin’. Even if it is a high imitation.
Some folks, they don’t care if it’s real or not. They just want the look. And these high imitation Rolexes, they give you that. You can wear it around, show it off, and nobody’s gonna know the difference. ‘Cept maybe a real watch expert. They can probably tell.
But most folks, they just see a shiny green watch. And they think, “Wow, that’s a nice Rolex.” They don’t know it’s a New Green Submariner high imitation. They just think it’s the real deal.
I guess it’s all about what you want, ain’t it? If you want a real Rolex, you gotta pay the price. And it’s a hefty price, I tell ya. More than I ever spent on a watch in my life.

Me, I don’t need no fancy watch to tell the time. I got a clock on the wall, and the sun in the sky. That’s all I need. But I can see why some folks like ’em. They’re pretty, I’ll give ’em that. Even the high imitation ones. Especially that green one, the New Green Submariner.
So, if you’re thinkin’ ’bout gettin’ one of these high imitation Rolexes, just know what you’re gettin’. It ain’t the real deal. But it might be good enough. Just depends on what you’re lookin’ for. And how much money you got to spend. As for me, I’ll stick to my old clock. It might not be a Rolex, but it tells the time just fine. And it sure is a conversation starter when I tell folks it tells the same time as a high imitation Rolex New Green Submariner that those city fellas buy from the specialty stores!
