So, I’ve been eyeing this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch for a while now. You know, the one with the open case back? It’s a real beauty, and I finally decided to pull the trigger and get one from their official flagship store. I figured I might as well document the whole process.
First, I headed over to the flagship store. It was pretty slick. I started browsing around, checking out all the shiny watches, but my eyes were set on the Moonwatch. I spotted it and tried it on. Felt pretty good on the wrist, a solid 42mm case, not too big, not too small. Stainless steel, which is my go-to for watches. The black dial looked sharp, and it had those three chronograph sub-dials.
I started chatting with the sales guy, a nice enough fellow. He told me all about how this particular model was inspired by the one Neil Armstrong wore on the moon in 1969. They call it the 105.012 “Professional”. Apparently, NASA made it standard issue for the Apollo astronauts back in ’65. He pointed out that the sapphire crystal is domed and scratch-resistant, which is great. It’s also got some anti-reflective stuff on it, making it easier to read in bright light. That is a good point of OMEGA. And this one has that see-through back, the “transparent case back.” You can see all the little gears and things moving around. It is said that the accuracy isn’t as good as some other fancy watches like those Rolexes, but it is good enough for daily use.
The whole process was pretty straightforward. I decided to go for it, paid the money, and walked out with my new Moonwatch. It comes with a steel bracelet and a folding clasp. Pretty standard, but it works.
Some people say it’s overpriced, and maybe it is. But, you know, it’s an iconic watch. Plus, I like the history behind it. Some people also say that for the price, they should have used better materials, like a better stainless steel but, I don’t know, I think it feels pretty solid.
All in all, I’m happy with my purchase. It’s a classic watch, it looks good, and it’s got a cool story. Plus, I get to see all those tiny parts working inside, which is pretty neat. I’ve been wearing it for a few days now, and I’m really enjoying it. It’s comfortable, it keeps time well, and it’s definitely a conversation starter.
- Walked into the flagship store
- Tried on the Moonwatch
- Chatted with the sales guy
- Paid and left with my new watch
It’s still early days, but so far, so good. I’ll probably post an update after I’ve had it for a while. But for now, I’m just enjoying my new Moonwatch.
