This here, this Yves Saint Laurent YSL COLLEGE BAG, they call it. Fancy name, ain’t it? I seen it on that there interwebs thing. Says it’s a remake, like when you sew up an old dress to make it new again. And this here’s the official flagship store, whatever that means. Sounds important, though.
Now, I ain’t never had no fancy bag like this. My old purse is good enough for me. But this one, it’s got that YSL on it, big as you please. Like they want everyone to know you got a special bag. It’s all quilted and puffy, like my old Sunday quilt. They say it is monogramed, that is a new word to me, must be some new fashion. And they call this bag a satchel, I used to carry a satchel to school, but it was nothing like this.
They got all kinds of these YSL bags. Different colors, different sizes. Some is big enough to carry your groceries in, I reckon. Others is just little things, barely big enough for your lipstick and your hanky. This COLLEGE BAG, it is not that big, but not too small, I think it is just good for a woman.
- This one, it’s leather. Real leather, they say. Smells like it, too. Like a new saddle, or a good pair of boots.
- I seen some folks, they carry these bags, all proud-like. Like they’re some kind of movie star or something.
- Makes me wonder, what’s it like to have a bag that fancy? Must be nice, I suppose.
But then I think, what would I do with a bag like that? Wouldn’t want to get it dirty. Wouldn’t want to scratch it up. And Lord knows I can’t afford no fancy bag like that. My pension check barely covers my bills as it is.
Still, it’s nice to look at. Like a pretty picture in a magazine. And they say you can get it online. Just click a button, and it comes right to your door. Imagine that. The world we live in, it’s something else. They say you can save 22% on it, that is a good deal. It is like when we have sales in the small shop in my town. But 22%, it is a big number!
They got this other one, they call it a Bea Leather Tote. Now what in the Sam Hill is a tote? Sounds like something you’d carry your tools in. But this one, it’s all sleek and shiny. Looks like it’d be slippery to hold onto. I always use a big bag, so I can put all my stuff in it, this tote, maybe it is what young people use now.
And they got all these fancy words for these bags. “Designed for the fashion-forward individual.” Well, I ain’t never been called fashion-forward. I just wear what’s comfortable and what keeps me warm. But I guess some folks, they like to be all dressed up and fancy. Good for them, I say.
This YSL, it’s a French thing, they say. Started a long time ago, by some fella named Yves and his partner. I do not know much about French, but their stuff looks good. They say the man who made this bag changed the brand name, I think this is important for a brand, but I do not know much about it. They also say he made the bag look edgy, I am not sure about this word, but I think this means the bag looks cool. It is very popular they clean and restore this kind of bag. To clean them, remove stains and something called mould, I have that in my old house sometimes. They also recolour and refinish the bag, I guess this means they will make it look new again, it must be good, because I also like to keep my old stuff and make them look new.
You can get these bags on some website called FARFETCH, they say there are hundreds of them, and they are all new. This is too much for me, I can only use one bag at a time. But I guess some people like to have many bags. They say these are authentic, that means they are real, not fake ones. We have a lot of fake stuff in the market, so it is good to know this YSL COLLEGE BAG is a real one.
I reckon if I was a rich lady, I might get me one of these YSL COLLEGE BAGs. Might carry it to church on Sundays. Might take it with me when I go into town. Might feel like a queen, walking around with a fancy bag like that. But for now, I’ll just stick with my old purse. It’s served me well all these years, and it ain’t let me down yet. But it is sure nice to dream a little, ain’t it?
This interwebs thing, it’s full of all sorts of things. You can find anything you want on there, I reckon. Even fancy bags like this Yves Saint Laurent YSL COLLEGE BAG. It’s a whole new world out there, that’s for sure. But I still like to do things the old way, mostly. I like my simple life, my old purse, and I do not need a fancy bag to make me happy. But like I said, it is still nice to look, and to dream.
