So, I’ve been eyeing this Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Date watch for a while now. You know, the one that looks like it’s straight out of their official flagship store? Yeah, that one. I finally decided to go for it, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure.

I finally found a specialty store online that had it, the blue-grey dial version. Man, it looked even better in the close-up pics. The real test, though, was whether it was legit. I learned the best way to tell if it’s real is to ask for something called an “extract from the archives” from JLC. It’s like a birth certificate for the watch.
Took a deep breath and placed my order. I gotta say, I was a bit nervous. I kept imagining getting some cheap imitation in the mail. When it finally arrived, I ripped open that package like a kid on Christmas morning.
Inspected it real close. Checked for that serial number. Looked at the moonphase dial for those tiny stars. Everything seemed to check out. But the real clincher was trying to get that extract from the archives. They confirmed it was the real deal! Phew!
It took a few days and a bit of back-and-forth, but I got that extract. Turns out, my watch is as authentic as it gets! I’ve been wearing it every day since, and let me tell you, it feels good. It looks good, too. Every time I glance at it, I get a little thrill.
I did hear that some people have issues with the little buttons for setting the date and the moonphase. They stop working. But so far, so good for me!
