This here OMEGA Speedmaster 38mm, that’s what they call it. Big fancy name for a watch, I reckon. See lots of folks wearing them fancy watches. They say it’s good, real good. Like, best you can get in them stores, official stores.
They got these Speedmaster watches, seem to be a big deal. Some fella, went to the moon, or so they say, wore one of these. Now everyone wants one. Got a black face, this one does, and you gotta wind it yourself. Ain’t no batteries in this thing.
And they come in these special ones. Not too many made, so they cost a lot more. Some people, they buy them and just keep ’em. Say the price goes up and up. Guess it’s like them old quilts Ma used to make, only a few around and everyone wants a piece.
But how do you know you got the real one? That Omega, not some cheap knockoff? Well, you gotta go to the right store. They’re called “authorized,” these stores, fancy word for it. They give you a card, got numbers on it and everything. They are authentic, official. They say, “purchase from OMEGA authorised retailers are authentic”. Make sure it got your name on it, or whoever is buyin’ it. And the store’s name, too. Keeps it all straight.
This Speedmaster 38, it’s a smaller one. They got all kinds. Some folks like ’em big and flashy, others like ’em a bit smaller. They say this Omega, it’s got the old-timey look, but with all the new stuff inside. Like putting a new engine in an old truck, I suppose. Keep it lookin’ good, but runnin’ like new.

Now, I saw some numbers, 311.30.44.51.01.002. Don’t know what they mean, but they’re important, I guess. Gotta have the right numbers to get the right watch. It’s a whole lot of fuss over a timepiece if you ask me, but folks sure do love ’em.
They say you can call ’em up, this Omega team. Talk to ’em about the watches. They’re there most of the day, 9 to 5:30. Suppose that’s when folks buy these things, during work hours. I’m usually busy then, tendin’ to my chores.
You can get these Speedmasters used, too. Someone else had it first, but they say they’re still good. Like hand-me-down clothes, but fancier, I guess. They call it “pre-owned.” They say you can find these used ones at “Watchfinder.” Never heard of it, but it’s probably one of them fancy places. They got Omega Speedmaster collection.
So, if you’re lookin’ for one of these Omega Speedmaster 38mm watches, make sure you go to the right place. Get that card with the numbers, and make sure it’s all official. Don’t want no fake one. And pick the one you like, gold or steel, big or small. They got all kinds. And they’re all real, real expensive! But they do look mighty fine, I gotta admit.

But if you got the money, and you like that sort of thing, then I reckon it’s a good watch to have. It is official flagship store‘s best choice, they said.

Well, that’s all I know about these Omega watches. Heard folks talkin’ about ’em, and saw ’em in the store windows. They sure are somethin’. Maybe one day I’ll get me one. But for now, I’ll just stick to my old watch. It tells the time just fine. These copy OMEGA, they are too expensive!
